It is my Christmas tradition to go to see It’s A Wonderful Life at the local cinema that shows it every year. This year I actually managed to go twice. I love the film so much, and I never tire of it. It is still brilliant and holds up to every repeat viewing, whether it is once a year, or twice in one week! As my Dad said when we left the cinema yesterday, it gets better every time you see it. I’m not much for Christmas in general, but this film is one of the things I do love about this time of the year. Having seen it now, I’m officially declaring that Christmas has started.

I’m not a fan of Christmas, or of Christmas films, or of overly sentimental films in general. But I love It’s A Wonderful Life, and it is my little Christmas tradition to go to my local cinema and see this film when they show it every year. I was genuinely sad when I had to cancel my plans to see it because of the snow, and thrilled when the weather improved and I was able to make it to the cinema after all. This is the fourth year in a row I’ve been, and it’s still brilliant. I can’t wait to see it again next year.

It’s A Wonderful Life is one of my favourite films and one of the few Christmas things that I actually like (overall I can’t abide the Christmas season at all). The independent cinema here seems to show the film every year, and this is the third year in a row that I’ve been to see it there, making it a bit of a tradition. For a film that is hugely depressing and grim at times, it’s also one that is hugely heart warming and ultimately uplifting (I went to see it with my Dad and we were both in tears at several points, which is not unusual for me when watching this film). I hope that I’ll be able to sit down and watch it every year and feel the same way.

It’s A Wonderful Life is just the perfect Christmas viewing. The local indie cinema here apparently shows in every year, and this is the second year in a row that I’ve been to see it there. I intend to make it a long standing tradition.
